About the event

The right to vote is one of the most fundamental freedoms enjoyed by American citizens. While today every U.S. citizen aged 18 and older—regardless of race or gender—can cast a ballot, this inclusive right was hard-won over centuries of struggle and reform.

Did you know elections have been held in North Carolina since the time of the Regulator Movement—and even earlier? But who was actually allowed to vote in the 18th century? What did the voting process look like back then?

Be part of the experience—join us on Saturday, November 1st, as visitors are invited to actively participate in the process.

Tentative Schedule of Events - All activities will take place in the historic area
